Orig. issued in 1947, this brand new Revised Edition of the classic guide for mixologists contains 143 recipes for Trader Vic's special tropical drinks--like the Zombie, Vampiro, Hot Pants on the Rocks, & Scorpion--+ 1,000 more, including nonalcoholic libations. A FIRST PRINTING from 1972, in 442 pages, with pen-and-ink sketches throughout + 8 pages of cocktail glassware--including tiki styles--in center. Hardcover octavo has gray cloth-covered boards lettered in navy/black to spine.Condition is downgraded to Good due to heavy exterior soiling, which impacts endpapers & outside page edges as well, just a spot or two in text. Otherwise, interior is clean, pages creamy white & unmarked, binding strong & straight. Th price-clipped DJ is only Fair, with some large missing chips & unclosed tears. There is some water damage to the front board at the lower corner edge as well as the first few pages. Some of the pages with pictures have some folded over/creasing at the fore-edge. Boards slightly bowed/warped from the moisture damage, have minor edgewear, very small chips and tears. 442 pages.

Dust jacket has a fairly large chip at the top of the front at the spine that affects the top corner of the T in the title; large tear from the bottom up at the front flap, price-clipped, general nicking, wear around edges, several pieces of tap on the inside reinforcing. Dust jacket now in mylar.

Revised edition, hardcover, has a subtle skew to the binding, which has tiny cracks at pages 180-183, but remains solid. The book also has light bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, two small spots of staining to the tail of the back cover, and minor soiling to the head of the text block. Overall, a Very Good copy in a Near Very Good, unclipped dust jacket, which has rubbing and areas of staining and toned offsetting to the covers, heavier staining to the back, and creased bumps to the spine ends and cover corners.
