Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. This is a fine copy of the seventh published volume of Tony Benn's diaries and the one which recorded and brought to an end the final decade of his nearly fifty years as an MP. The complete series would eventually cover not only the whole of his time in parliament but also a decade or so at each end - a total period of more than seventy years. He is generally regarded as one of the best, if not the best, political diarist of his era and a fine reporter of political events. He has signed his book on the title page with the dedication 'for Emma' - see photograph. Although they are now over twenty years old, both book and dust jacket look new. The black cloth-bound boards are evenly coloured and unmarked: no dents, scratches or bumps - all edges are straight, all corners are sharp. Internally all pages are clean and bright with no marks or signs of former ownership other than the signature and dedication noted above. The text block is square and tightly bound and all edges (of the text block) are spotless. The dust jacket retains its original gloss and crispness and there are no marks, tears, chips or unwanted creases. The photographs and colours of the artwork are as strong and unfaded as they ever were and the publisher's price (£25.00) has not been clipped. We have included five photos of the book (the maximum enabled by Abe) and would be happy to provide more. Signed by Author(s).
