Includes tables showing the weight of livers taken from autopsies, etc. deaths of British troops from biliary diseases serving in the Mediterranean, America, Africa, W & E Indies, etc. William Twining's treatise; p.237-332 contains case studies with name, age, complexion and occupation (including names of vessels for sailors) of patients. Twining was the first assistant surgeon in the General Hospital, Calcutta, India.
