Edizione originale della prima poesia del conte cremonese. Monti dopo averlo letto consigliò al giovane poeta di «innamorarsi» prima di scrivere (cfr. Epistolario di Vincenzo Monti, Milano 1842, p. 297). Ottimo esemplare. (SE3).

Bella leg. coeva in piena pelle marmorizzata con disegno a radica di noce, cornice in oro ai piatti, fregi in oro al dorso (un guasto restaurato restaurato al dorso). Fresco es., con timbro coevo di proprietà al frontizio: "D. Bona". (11263) Poema in 4 canti di ispirazione "byroniana", tipico della vena dell'autore Carlo Tedaldi Fores (Cremona, 1793 - Milano, 1829). Dopo una prima produzione poetica di tipo classicheggiante di ispirazione soprattutto foscoliana, l'autore si collocò poi con i suoi poemi nelle fila del romanticismo lombardo; la sua Narcisa è considerata un tipico esempio di "byronismo" in Italia; vi si narra la vicenda di Narcisa, giunta a Montpellier col padre, di religione anglicana, morta improvvisamente mentre dall'Inghilterra la raggiungeva il fidanzato, colonnello Riccardo; le fu negata l'inumazione nel cimitero cattolico, con la costernazione del padre e del fidanzato, che fu poi ucciso dai francesi.
