Blue boards are in very good condition (two very tiny white spots near spine on front and very slight bumping to spine top and bottom). The illustration on the front and the lettering on the spine are bright. Dust jacket with Mylar protector in good condition (small tear on back, a bit of chipping along edges, and some shelf rubbing on back). 9 ¼ x 6 ¼, 142 pages, 13 oz. SAYLES is a noted anthropologist. At present, he is Curator of the Arizona State Museum, and a Fellow of both the Society for American Archaeology and the American Anthropological Society. Although he has authored numerous archaeological books and papers for adults, this is Dr. Sayles first book for young people. MARY ELLEN STEVENS is also from the Southwest. Although this is also her first book for children, she is a gifted narrator with a superb sense of story and an ability to charm and hold a young audience. She lives in Houston with her son Jeff, who is now a sophomore in college. BARTON A. WRIGHT is Curator of the Museum of Northern Arizona and a well-known illustrator. An active man who knows and loves the outdoors he has been at various times in the past, a river pilot, a stevedore, a ferry operator, and a fishing guide, and has shown in his own life the same enjoyment of adventure which animates his delightful drawings.
