Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Swinburne, Alfred James, B.A. (illustrator). Dark green cloth covers with gold lettering and illustrations on spine which are bright. Black lettering on spine is faded. Covers exhibit moderate wear, bumping and fraying on corners and spine ends. Light wear on all edges and hinges. Light shelf wear and soiling to covers. Gift inscription to previous owner on ffep. Yellowing to page ends, ffep's and bfep's. Inside hinges are cracked but still attached. Pages 143-153 have chipping to upper edges. Yellowing to text and the many b&w illustrations due to age. Text is otherwise clean and unmarked. Includes 40 pages of advertising in back of book. "An attempt to popularise the science of reasoning by the combination of humorous pictures with examples of reasoning taken from daily life." All books are individually examined and described. Never ex-library unless explicitly described as such.
