Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Gaarder, Jostein; Hagerup, Klaus (illustrator). Solid blue cloth HARD COVER, sophisticated children's reader with word list, study questions. ILLUSTRATED with line drawings, historic photographs, and copies of paintings - all in black and white. With fairly mild wear and soiling. EX SCHOOL LIBRARY, with book plate inside front board, code on spine, a few stamps, and pocket and date due slip pasted in back board. Title page with a closed tear. 245pp AMH 038032 LOC I discovered another interesting side-note that James A. Michener the very prolific author went to Colorado State Teachers College for a Masters degree in Education and stayed on for a few years as an instructor and in 1938 created the exercises and study materials for this book which was used as a classroom reader. It appears this may have been his first publication.
