Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Stolberg, Doris (illustrator). Clean bright cover with some wear on spine and corners. Back cover is slightly loose on inside but still attached. Pages clean and free from tears. Presumed first edition.

Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Doris Stolberg (illustrator). See photos for condition details. Tall softcover, measuring just over 12.75 inches in height. The exterior shows toning and some spotting but the reason for the low condition grade is because the front cover is torn near the upper left corner and on the rear cover there is a chip that is actually missing, also near the upper left corner. Both the upper and lower hinges are also opened, the bottom one about an inch in the upper one goes to the top staple. Interior pages are still secure, the paper is also toned and there is some light spotting and corner creases but soiling and spotting is not near as bad as the exterior. No handwriting was found anywhere in the book, the biggest issue is that large chip missing on the last page.

Withdrawn from a school library, but the markings are discreet and minimal (one small handwritten number to title-page and evidence of card pocket removed from rear endpaper). Otherwise clean and bright with minor handling wear. Minor shelf-wear or rubbing to board corners ad spine ends. Remains a lovely copy overall.

Cardboard covers show blond girl in costume with tambourine in her hand and a large blue dress with apron on back cover. Covers show edgewear with light rubbing and soiling and top round of spiral is a little bent with wear to bottom of cover at spiral. Tambourine has a blue TE and 100 lightly written. Bottom of pages at spiral are loose. This is a wonderful book with flip out head and legs attached to the back. Each set of pages includes a costume with a short poem telling about an occupation.
