Uniformly bound in red cloth with art nouveau-style gilt stamped flower decoration to front boards and spines. Light soiling to boards; some fading/dulling to spines which have shallow wear/fraying at ends; some shelf rubbing and small stains to board edges. Top edges gilt; light toning to fore-edges and bottom edges. Volume I retains its sewn-in silk ribbon page marker but Volume II lacking its page marker. Light toning/foxing and soiling to endpapers but interior pages are clean. Bindings are firm. Still an attractive set. With b/w plates and guard sheets on unpaged leaves; Volume II has foldout map at rear.
