Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A unique and very attractive presentation of 52 "cards" (for lack of a better word), each of which is framed in gold and contains a short inspirational speech on a business topic or life in general. These were given out by an employer once a pay period so it is very uncom…mon to find one of these with all 52 cards intact. Pages are separated by onionskin in a spiderweb pattern. This copy is also exceptional because it is extremely clean with minimal wear. There is some light soiling and some light wear to edges and corners of the covers. (Note: Photos may show a flash reflection.) PayPal always welcome. We pack all our books with care and ship in cardboard boxes. Shipment outside of the United States may require extra funds. Additional photos emailed upon request.

Contact seller3-star sellerFirst edition. Quarto (7 x 11 inches). 6 stiff leaves, with each leaf bearing (front and back) four printed gilt frames in which a card bearing the Talk was to be pasted (i.e. 8 to a page plus the inner rear wrapper for a total of 52). This copy bears 50 of the 52 cards (although 4 are duplicates; none wants to look bad). Each c…ard was printed in colors and contained the copyright symbol. Interleaved with onionskin in a spider web pattern. Publisher's printed blue wrappers, title on front in raised lettering in gilt and dark blue, string sewn. An abrasion on the lower rear cover and some general aging but a very good copy.Celebrating aphorisms no longed held in esteem, the book was presented to an employee with one card. Each pay period a new card would be given to each employee to be glued into the book. Since assembly of the complete book required the correct actions of the employee, the number of cards in these albums varies wildly. That this copy has 50 cards speaks highly of this employees mettle.

Condition: very good. Rosetta Brooks, ed. A Survey of the Avant-Garde in Britain, Vol. I, 18th August 8th September, 1972. Gallery House Press, London. 291 x 210mm. 42pp. Perfect bound book, printed black on white stock, featuring 'three independent exhibitions and a small series of lectures' from Stephen Willats, Ian Parkinson,… Michael Dye, David Medalla, John Dugger, Graham Stevens, Michael Upton, Jun Terra, Bill Lundberg, Roderick Coyne, and Stuart Brisley. Listings include photographs of exhibitions with image descriptions, printed lectures, and artist biographies printed as timelines. In her introduction, Rosetta Brooks posits, 'In presenting exhibitions under the title of 'avant-garde' it might suggest that I am affirming the usefulness of the concept and it might even be interpreted that there is a characteristic, common in all such work, which makes it avant-garde. This however is not my intention; much of the work in the exhibition is attempting to redefine the basis of art activity along less paradoxical lines and in accordance with a variety of conventions which have previously been alien to the activity.' Condition: foxing to covers, coffee ring stain to back cover and red biro note to back cover, internally near fine. No tears, poor cover, contents very good +/near fine. Overall very good.
