Black dust jacket rubbed; slight scuffing/bumping at edges; 2.5cm closed tear at spine head with tape repair to verso; front flap's top right has "A.L.I.P." instead of a printed price. Black boards; vibrant gilt stamped lettering to spine and front board; spine head lightly bumped. Undecorated white endpapers. Slight toning at page margins but otherwise leaves are quite clean. Binding is firm. Still an attractive very good+ copy in a very good dust jacket. Title and copyright pages specify 1963 with no statement as to edition/printing. However two subtle circumstances prove this copy to be a post-1970 reprint: {1} dj rear flap and copyright page specify ISBN 0038505571 (which is invalid) and, although ISBNs were devised in the late 1960s, they were not in regular use until 1970 and {2} book's concluding "Biographical Outline" cites Steichen's death on March 25, 1973.
