INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front flyleaf, "To.T. H. Williams / in the hope that you will find something of interest herein, and with my warm regard. / Marshal Stearns / February 1933". One illustration on page [6]. Hunting memories from this Connecticut author (who once bought a hunting dog from North Carolina). Memories of Bird Dogs, Birds, and other hunters and guides. Stearns had kennels in various states, including Florida. He also talks of hunting in Virginia, "over a neighboring plantation to Mr. Cabell's". Part of Chapter 8 is devoted to "Sport", the dog he got from North Carolina (we don't' know if he went shooting in NC). Sport was supposed to be a bird dog but had a tendency to go for fur rather than feather. Signed by Author(s).
