Small indentation in vertical edge of front cover. Untrimmed. Very Good. First Edition. Pencil signature of Charles E. Fay on front flyleaf. His biography is on pp. 124-27. He was a graduate of Tufts in the class of 1868 and in 1869 was offered the professorship of French and German in the new Department of Modern Languages, which he proceeded to organize. "History of Tufts College 1854-1896" is stamped in gilt on the front cover, as is the title most others give for the book. But the title page reads as above.
