Vintage double weight reference photograph from the 1940 film, showing actors James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan. Mimeo snipe and MGM credit stamp for photographer Clarence Bull on the verso. Based on the 1937 novel by Phyllis Bottome. In Nazi Germany, an aging professor faces increased scrutiny for his pacifism and resistance to Nazi ideologies. One of only a few directly anti-Nazi films released in America before the country's entry into World War II in 1941. Shot on location in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sun Valley, Idaho. 10 x 8 inches. Lightly worn on the bottom edge, else Near Fine.
