Pen inscription to front pastedown.Annotations, underlining and marginalia in pencil throughout; text remains unaffected. Light cracking to gutters but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has slightly heavier sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

A square, tight, clean copy with usual light endpaper foxing; jacket has sunned spine and perimeter and a few pinpricks but is otherwise smooth and sound. A very sound example of this title. Inscription to first endpaper reads:- 'Mary Chandler from Pat Stacy Waddy. College of the Ascension, Selly Oak 11.1.59'. It is not known whether this is the author's inscription or not.
