Book has minor rubbing to front and back covers with light corner and edge wear, along with light hingewear to both covers, as well as minor sunfading to the spine, with gentle bumping to one corner, along with previous owner's name on the front endpapers. otherwise book is in very good condition with clean covers, strong corners and edges with crisp, clean pages, bright engravings and a solid binding.

A couple pages of advertisements for other books in the American Men of Letters series located in the back. One advertisement page appears to be missing. Gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Pages, front cover, and spine are clean and intact. Dampstain on back cover. This is a biography of Bayard Taylor (1825-1878), an American poet, literary critic, travel writer, and diplomat.
