A VG+ copy in a VG D/W which is not price-clipped (priced 2/6 net to the spine as called for by the English Catalogue of Books entry for 1937). The D/W has several closed tears which have been neatly but un-necessarily strengthened on the verso by a former owner. The D/W has no loss and is an attractive, complete example. Superb period D/W artwork by the noted 1930's commercial artist and illustrator, Nat Long. Photographs/scans available upon request.

Book would grade fine if not for black specks along edges; remnants of an old DJ protector with a black edge liner. The DJ rescued from that liner is about perfect; its only flaw being slight rumpling from being squeezed in that vintage DJ protector for the last 50 years. A nice copy with noted flaws; signed by the author who explores man's struggle with himself in the time of war; this being the closing days of the American Civil War; taking place in the Southwest.
