His daily column was printed the the San Diego Tribune and the subsequent San Diego Union-Tribune from 1965 until his retirement in 1992. In addition, Sinor wrote a weekly column that was syndicated to more than 600 newspapers. Using whimsy and understatement, Sinor wrote about his family, neighbors, dogs and cats. Among his books was "Finsterhall of San Pasqual," which was made into an unreleased Disney movie filmed at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Born in Elk City, Okla., Sinor began in the newspaper business as a copy boy at the Sacramento Bee. With time out to serve in the Korean War, he worked for the McClatchey chain for 14 years. Sinor passed away on Aug. 28, 1996 in San Diego of heart and kidney failure. In exceptionally good condition.
