      Unpaginated, 48 plates with c. 160pp of text, limited edition of 500, this number 213. 33x27, green cloth with glt text over bevelled boards, glt upper edge. Ex library, with small stamps and marks on eps, water damage to bottom of cloth, visible on some pages, fair to good thus. Simpson was one of the best known and popular artists and journalists of the Victorian era, famous for his reporting from Crimea and the Second Afghan War as well as many public events across the UK. This collection, published just after his death, took 48 illustrations of his home city, largely from the early part of his career. [heavy item, may need additional postage to some destinations].
