Some rubbing to cloth, small tear in cloth top left corner. A lavish production. Shakespeare's famous work in a very attractive format.

Book is as described - all defects and marks are noted. A very nice copy. It would make a great gift. Top page edges gilt. Gilt lettering on spine.

All edges gilt, silk endpapers, silk ribbon. Some rubbing and dust-soiling to boards, and notable foxing to some of the tissue guards, though the text and plates are entirely unaffected.

Decorated title page. 30 tipped-in colour plates (including frontispiece), with tissue guards bearing captions and most with decorative devices in black (e.g. crowned serpent, serpent tangled in a rosary, skull in jester's cap)- all the plates are present, clean & bright - two have corner creases. Sir Arthur. Quiller-Couch's introductory essay gives a synopsis of the play and relevant background material. Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, suspects his father's death was no accident and sets out to prove that his uncle, now King Claudius, is the murderer. Very light browning to endpapers and colour plate page stock, light browning to edges of text block, light wear and light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, light corner wear, light rubbing on spine edges, approx. 2 1/2" x 1/2" area of color loss on rear board, split in paper at inside rear hinge - very very firmly, two very small stains on front board, front board is very slightly concave.
