Book and cover with minor wear. Laurance Benjamin Siegfried (1892-1978) served during World War I as an officer in the Naval Reserve Force. Siegfried came to Syracuse after twenty-five years in printing publishing, and advertising, and ten years as editor of the "American Printer." At Syracuse he was chairman of the Department of Graphic Arts, chairman of the editorial board and general chairman of Syracuse University Press, managing editor of the Orange Publishing Company, and in charge of editing, designing, and the production of all university publications. In 1977 Siegfried received the F. W. Goudy award from Rochester Institute of Technology for his distinguished career in graphic arts.
