Heavy pencil annotations and marginalia to pages throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown. Boards have mild edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Heavy tanning to spine, which has mild crushing and tearing to ends. Boards are mildly warped.

From the Macmillan's Pocket Classics series. 16mo, brown cloth boards with yellow imprinting on cover and spine, xxxviii + 124 pp; Newsom's notes are the xxxviii, and Edmund Burke's March 22, 1775 speech to the British House of Commons is the 124 pp. About Very Good; small stain on front cover (see scan), wear of the coloring of the spine titling imprint, previous owner's name on front pastedown and ffep, erasable light pencil notations on a few pages. Sturdily bound, clean, hinges strong. A collectible textbook; this title was used primarily by history students in its day. L-28.

Brown boards are clean with a few faint markings. Both spine and front cover have gilt titling and edges are lightly worn and bumped. Text is age toned but otherwise clean. Binding has loosened with age and can be seen in a few spots throughout the book but otherwise it has lasted very well and remains strong. Overall book is in great shape and has easily withstood the test of time.
