Roger Corman bought the US rights of the wildly successful 1973 Japanese film for New World Pictures, had a great deal of footage cut, and new sequences shot featuring English speaking actors, most notably Lorne Greene as UN Ambassador Warren Richards, for US… release in 1975. Based on the 1973 novel "Japan Sinks" by Sakyo Komatsu. Japan, beset with earthquakes and volcanos, begins sinking into the sea as Japanese and Americans race against time to try and save the island country. 27 x 41 inches. Folded as issued. Pinholes in top margin, else Near Fine.
