Also affixed to the front pastedown is an old bookseller's catalog entry for the book, and the bookseller's label of Fred M. DeWitt, Oakland, Cal. Laid in is a copy of the quarterly, Noticias del Puerto de Monterey, with a 7 page article on William P. Toler, a 20 year old midshipman aboard the USS Savannah.
