Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. FIRST COLOUR SHEPARD EDITION. Large 8vo. (9.5 x 6.4 inches). Originally published in 1931 with uncoloured line drawings. Colour map endapers. A thin white line blanking out a previous owner name on the top of the front free endpaper otherwise a very good clean copy in publishers tan cloth boards with blind stamped illustration of Toad smoking a cigar to front board. Spine lettered in gilt. Some light spots to the front board but generally very good. Original dustwrapper has a few minor creases to the edges and whole wrapper has toned just a little over the years but is generally bright and clean. He also at the same time coloured his illustrations for the Winnie the Pooh books of A. A. Milne.

Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. FIRST COLOUR EDITIONS. First impressions. Four volumes. Large 8vo (9.5 x 6.4 inches). Originally published between 1924 and 1928, uncoloured, Shepard coloured his own line illustrations for these editions with Winnie the Pooh and House at Pooh Corner issued in 1973 and 1974 respectively and the other two volumes both first issued much later, in 1989. Pooh Corner in original red cloth and the other three in dark blue cloth, all with either gilt or silver illustrations to the front boards and lettering to the spines. Decorative colour endpapers in all, two with maps of 100 Aker Wood an surrounding area, the other two with images of the characters. All four books in the original colour illustrated dustwrappers, three with the price clipped from the inside front flaps. Some rubbing to the extremities of the two earlier volumes, the later two in near fine condition. A minor crease to the top of the first 30 pages of Winnie the Pooh. Overall a very good set of these hugely popular books, which haven't been out of print since first published in the 1920's and here as all first printings published with Shepard's colouring to his drawings. A lovely set.
