An analytical study of the brain cavity of the famous 'Peking Man', based on a casting of the fossil obtained by paleoanthropologist Davidson Black. The present paper attempts to…reconstruct the brain structure of this early hominid and to compare it with that of other then-known ancient hominid fossils, the great apes and modern man. The original fossils of the Peking Man discovery were lost in WWII. Softbound in printed wraps; spine reinforced, library stamp on top corner of front wrap, 5 cm. loss and additional 5 cm. taped tear to lower edge of rear wrap, not effecting any text. Light spotting to plate pages. Interior pages otherwise clean and unmarked. 19 pp. plus 3 pp. plates, 21 b&w figs, bibliography. Size: 30 x 23 cm.
