Robert Serles was an attorney who practiced in New York . His passion were sailing and navigation in which he was an expert. He taught a course in New York. These notes are the culmination of his life's work.

Two volumes; Part A includes Piloting, Advanced Piloting, and Dead Reckoning; Part B includes Elementary Celestial Navigation. Part A is about 250 pages, Part B , 350 pages. Total , about 2 3/4 inch thick text bound in a flexible binder. Mr. Serles was a corporate lawyer from New York. His pasions were sailing and celestial navigation in which he was an expert and taught a course, I believe, at the North River Power Squadron in New York . These two volumes are a compilation of his life's work in navigation.
