Ink inscription to the title page, dated September 1943. In collaboration with the journalist Keith Ayling, Lieutenant M. T. Wordell and Lieutenant E. N. Seiler give a thrilling first-hand account of serving in the Grumman "Wildcat" fighter squadron during the invasion of French North Africa in the Second World War. This invasion, known as 'Operation Torch', prompted the first large-scale airborne assault carried out by the United States.
