Hardcover. Condition: Good. 2 Volume Set, complete. Vol 1 is dated 1885. Vol 2 is dated 1888. Ex-Seminary Library. Rough cut pages. Text is clean. Binding is strong. Brown cloth covers, stamped borders and designs, a few light marks, lightly rubbed corners & spine ends. Nice condition for 1885 & 1888. Vol 1 has fold-out map intact. Second edition. *No shipping outside the United States available for this heavy book.*.

Dankesschreiben an einen nicht namentlich genannten Empfänger: "Haben Sie, verehrter Herr College, vielen Dank für Ihre gütige Zusendung, die ich [.] mit dem lebhaftesten Interesse begrüßt habe! Nehmen Sie inzwischen als ein geringes Antidoron die beifolgende Kleinigkeit entgegen, wenn Sie auch von Ihren Studien etwas gar weit abliegt [.]". - Nach dem Studium in Göttingen unterrichtete Schrader in Zürich, Gießen und Jena. 1875 erhielt er den Ruf als Professor für semitische Sprachen nach Berlin, in diesem Jahr wurde er auch als ordentliches Mitglied in die Preußische Akademie der Wissenschaften aufgenommen. Eberhard Schrader gilt als Begründer der Assyriologie in Deutschland.
