He didn't want his cultural roots (Dutch) to be forgotten like those headstones. 254 pages and 15 stories make up this work. Many of the tales read like fiction, BUT are in truth base…d on real-life experiences. Each story is leadoff by a b/w photo - many historical. These are attributed on pages 261-262. Glossary of terms as well, e.g. `verrekte jongen' is miserable kid - or - `slaapsok' is sleepyhead.(This is volume #3 in the Mandate Series of Dordt College.)
