Cloth. Condition: Excellent. No Jacket. First Edition. 12mo, 32pp. text followed by 20 color plates. Hardcover, bound in original pictorial boards. In excellent condition. Firm binding and crisp, clean, interior. No markings or signs of prior ownership. Very slight shelf-wear or rubbing to tips and corners, otherwise like new.

Text pages quite tanned with some foxing, some very mild tanning to b&w plates, binding firm and folded map in very good condition; cover has spine damage with a little loss, cover foxed and part of wrapper stuck to back cover. Some wrapper remains (two flaps) laid in.

Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor scuffing to spine, edges and corners. Lettering is clear. Visible wear marks to boards.

Cracked front internal spine hinge. Some loss at the top of the spine with rubbing to hinge and corners. Vertical creasing and marks to boards. A good reading copy only. Newspaper cuttings from the 1970's laid in the back of the book.
