Heavier to endpapers & paste downs. both hinges are cracked with slight exposed netting. Text is clear. Binding is firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible crushing to spine. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. 1st, and likely only, edition. [1913]. [viii] 102pp. Tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece. In black cloth-covered boards decorated with blind rules. 12mo. Boards are rubbed at edges, chipped on corners, backstrip partially crumbed away and has been repaired with tape. Text block edges darkened. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper, endpapers a little marked, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A collection of poetry by John Gummer, whose poetry otherwise appeared in literary magazines and journals of the time, some of it being set to music. The title poem, Night and Day, was first read at a meeting of St Peter's Presbyterian Literary Society where it is said to have made a deep impression. Volume sold to raise funds for the Bazaar Fund of St Peter's Presbyterian Church in Upper Tooting, London. Lovely little volume of evocative poetry.
