Signed by the editor to the preface. Illustrated with a frontispiece and three plates. Lacking four plates. Written by B. L. K. Henderson, a British art historian. Edited by S. C. Kaines Smith, a British author and lecturer on art. In the original full cloth binding, other than Romney which is in the full paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading or sunning to the spines with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper of volume one. With the odd pencil inscription or annotation to each volume. Good. George Romney (illustrator). signed by author. book.
