Beautifully Illustrated Bible, Containing the Old and the New Testaments and having 37 Illustrated Plates ( 3 of them Colou…red Maps). The Commentary on The Old Testament is by Rev. Robert Jamieson. A Second Illustrated Title Page before the "Poetical Books, starting with the Book of Job, is Illustrated with Our Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane. Commentary by Rev. Jamieson and Rev. E. H. Bickersteth. Frontispiece opposite has a lovely Illustration of the Madonna and Child. Small closed tear in lower margin. The New Testament begins with a Printed Title Page stating that the Commentary is by Rev. Edward Henry Bickersteth. Frontispiece Illustrated with The Three Magi following the Star. Text is arranged in Double Columns with References in narrow inner margins. Copious Footnotes. 14 3/4" Tall. Text ends at Revelation XXI. Pages a little age darkened. A little light foxing on plates, mainly marginal. Some edge wear and rubbing to leather (see photos). Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
