In good brown half leather and dark green cloth boards, gilt edging and five horizontal raised bands to spine with gilt. The boards are flat; quite tight, with some give to front cover; the green cloth is unmarked; the leather is worn; mostly to the edges. Red, brown and white marbled end papers; clean, with wear to centres. Faded marbled cut edges. The text block is printed in two columns and with six b/w plates (including frontispiece). The pages are tightly bound, straight and very lightly tanned around the edges. Names of two previous owners on prelims. Good plus condition. Heavy.
