A comprehensive study on vertebrate fauna in Forth, Scotland, which covers mammals, birds, bird migration, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Providing detailed descriptions of different areas from a faunal standpoint and exploring the relationship between the different animals and the landscape. Written by Leonora Jeffrey Rintoul, a Scottish ornithologist and rare female member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and Evelyn Vida Baxter, a Scottish naturalist and ornithologist, and the first woman to receive Union Medal of the British Ornithological Union. The pair are closely associated and considered "constant partners" in their co-authorship of works.
