This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Scarce in the trade. Maroon cloth binding with titling and rules in gilt on the front cover; titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 392 pages with a four-page publisher's advert in the rearr. Text very bright and clear. Some light rub at the margins, with mild bumping. The spine has darkened, with the gilt dulled but readable; head and foot rubbed. Page ends are darkened. These are minor issues in a basically sound and attractive book. . First Edition. Hard Cover. He was pleading for Irish Home Rule, andt is considered one of his finest orations. Alas, it was defeated by thirty votes. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition [stated "Copyright for the United States Secured."] . Per COPAC, copies are held by several different publishers in the UK; this American edition is scarce (two copies held in USA). Softbound, in sewn paper wraps; with titling in black on the front cover. Clean text; 32 pages. Paper is lightly toned but remains supple and clear. There is a small closed tear at the bottom of the front cover and a chip at the top edge of the rear; the rear has a tiny chip in the middle of the text, but is readable through context.
