The plays and poetry of Richard Brinsley Butler Sheridan, an Anglo-Irish playwright, writer and Whig politician who sat in the British House of Commons from 1780 to 1812. The owner of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London, he wrote several prominent plays. This collection includes titles such as: The Rivals, St. Patrick's Day, The Duenna, A Trip to Scarborough, The School for Scandal, The Critic, The Camp, The Forty Thieves, Pizarro, and Clio's Protest, amongst others. Edited by Raymond Crompton Rhodes, a British author, editor, and historian best known as a Shakespearean scholar. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with age toning to the endpapers. Very Good. book.
