A nominally Christian organisation, based in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, the Church is quite "New Age" in outlook, and would be see as outside Orthodox Christianity. "The Church teaches that within each of us is a Divine Spark, our soul spark, which is a part of God." Still existing in Quakertown.

Fifth Completely Revised Edition. 261pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Bluish-gray cloth over boards, with a gilt stamped title on the backstrip and the TRY emblem stamped in gilt on the front board. The spine is slightly rolled, and the front cover is a trifle warped. The endpapers are ever so slightly toned. Reuben Swinburne Clymer (1878-1966) was an American occultist and modern Rosicrucian Supreme Grand Master of the FRC (Fraternitas Rosae Crucis), who practiced alternative medicine. This practice regularly brought him into trouble with the United States government and the American Medical Association (AMA). In addition to serving as Supreme Grand Master for 61 years, Clymer also founded the Church of Illumination, the College of the Holy Grail, and the Sons of Isis and Osiris. "The Philosophy of Fire: Arcanum of The Spiritual Light" in addition to containing discussions on The Light of the Templars and The Sacred Fire or Flame of God, has chapters on Atlantis, Egypt, and the Essenes.

Condition: Very Good. 2 volume set published in 1945. Blue, cloth bound and in good condition. Slight bumps to the spine edges from shelving. Texts are clean and well bound. No DJ's, presumably as published. Gold gilt cross on the front covers.

Former item in a private library, with faint white ink on spine indicating, and a small stamp on the title page indicating "philosophical library.".
