More than forty illustrations, including frontispiece…with tissue guard. xvi, 826 pp. 9.5 x 7 inches. A very detailed history of Italy, written from a Protestant perspective, coving a panoply of Italian political, religious and cultural evolution. 368 pages are devoted to the period of 1800-1880. Republished in 1882 under the title History of Italy. The author, Herman Husband Fairall (1840-1912), was a well known Methodist minister in the American Midwest who was a resident of Iowa City.
