The aim of this book is to introduce the reader to the pleasures and pains of ancient and modern forms of Scottish architecture. By means of contrasts and of… comparison with older Scottish buildings and modern architecture from Scotland and other lands the authors present an argument for post-war planning and design in the form of pictures linked by a running commentary. This second edition has been revised and enlarged, amplifying particularly the references to housing and public works. The book is bound in the original illustrated paper covered boards. The case of the book is in near very good condition with shelf wear and some light soiling on the covers and a small bit of loss to the spine ends. There is some damage and a little loss to the paper covering the spine and parts have been covered with clear professional book repair tape. Bumps and damage to thebottom of the boards have also been neatly repaired with document repair tape. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.
