First published in 1936, this is a later reprint. First story is The Travels of a Fox. Frontis and one b&w plate by Florence Harrison. Three other colour plates by Mary S. Reeve, A. H. Watson and C.R. Brock. Other line drawings in text by other artists, some unattributed. No inscriptions but stain on corner of back cover bleeding into endpaper. Mary S. Reeve's plate present but taped in.

Pictorial front cover shows three girls sitting on grass, one reading a book. First story is "The Influence of Anne" by D.F. Bruce. 6 colour plates, b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Cover edges worn. Some slight chipping to edges of onlay to spine. Name plate to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. Foxing and some fingering to page edges and margins. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Includes "Captain Betsy" by Dorita Fairlie Bruce. 6 colour plates. 160 pages. Spine bumped. Covers slightly edge worn. Inscription in ink (partially faded) to front pastedown. Endpapers lightly browned. Foxing and some fingering to page margins. Scarce dustwrapper is grubby and edge worn, tear to top of spine tape repaired on verso, rear panel has large section of loss to top edge and some smaller pieces of loss at other edges. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Cover edges rubbed. Name plate to front pastedown. Endpapers partly browned. Foxing to contents and textblock. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some loss to top edge of rear panel, foxed on verso with some light foxing showing through to front panel. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Colour and b/w illustrations throughout by by the established and talented illustrators of the day, including C.E. Brock, Mary S. Reeve, Joan Griffith and M.A. Peart. Contributors include: `Winifred Darch, Ruth Sandys, Ierne Plunkett, Thora Stowell, Cora J. Gordon, Dorita Fairlie Bruce with one of the 'Dimsie' stories. Absolutely thrilling content for girls of the day includes Mystery and Adventure, travel, history and fashion. Very good indeed. Excellent condition.

Very good condition in an almost very good dustwrapper. Cream cloth, large pictorial onlay to spine and front board, front board shows boy cooking over an open fire whilst girl is passing sticks for fire. First story is 'The Griffins' by Florence Harrison. Colour frontis shows 'The Brownie Gets His Cream'. Colour & b/w illustrations. Boards clean, worn at corners. Name in ink to front pastedown. A few minor foxspots and light marks to margins. Colour plate "She bore away from the danger" has been neatly trimmed away on bottom margin (about an inch missing) but still bears the title of the plate and has a few small closed tears to vertical edge. Pictorial wrapper has neat inscription in ink to front panel, is edge-worn and has loss at edges. Overall, still a decent copy. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!
