Only hints of wear to extremities, cloth clean, gilt bright, just a touch of foxing at bottom of free endpapers, a hint of mustiness (but no water damage), else near fine to fine with all photos in fine condition and no internal markings. Dust jacket slightly shelfworn and slightly soiled, Front panel of dust jacket is a large black and white photo of Dai Rees holding a golf club and looking straight at the camera. David James Rees, CBE [1913¿1983] was one of Britain's leading golfers. Rees may best be remembered as the captain of the Great Britain Ryder Cup team which defeated the United States at Lindrick Golf Club in Yorkshire, England in 1957. It was the only defeat which the United States suffered in the competition between 1933 and 1985.
