No writing, minor shelfwear to the cover edges and corners, a bit of black residue at the bottom of the covers from a previous dustjacket mylar. Unclipped jacket is good but with wear and shor tears around the top of the spine and a longer tear at the bottom of the front panel, some scuffing and soil to the black panels. 104 pp., color and black and white plates - mostly tipped in. Better known for his novels, Lawrence had a lifelong interest in painting, and his exhibitions often brought controversy.

Herbert Read (1893-1968) was an English philosopher, literary critic, poet, and art historian. In this book, he writes about Julien Benda (1867-1956), a French philosopher and novelist.
