Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP, SD). 29 Photographic Illustrations. You can see the covers of the book in the photographs. There are a number of darkish spots on both the front an rear, also some black coloring just above the bottom edge of the front and rear. I…'ve discounted the book to reflect that. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The same goes for the red bands and the gilt design. There's a little crinkling at the bottom edge of the spine and a thin wrinkle a little below the top edge of the spine. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. That's also the case for the two top corners. The two bottom corners each have a very small spot of rub-through. The top page edge is tinted a light blue. It has a few little scratches, nothing that impacts any of the pages. The middle page edge is deckled or rough-cut. They did a very good job. The page edges are clean. The book is square and the spine looks straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I have scrolled through the text pages a number of times without finding any instances of soiling. A little of that black coloring can be seen just off the bottom corner of the front inside cover and front end paper, only a few specks of the same off the rear inside cover and facing rear end paper. None anywhere else in the book. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases. One page in the Bibliography was produced a little too long at its bottom corner and was folded in, so there's a crease there now. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The illustrations are all in excellent condition, very clean, no wear. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. The dust jacket is quite clean. There is a little bit of rubbing at the top edge of the spine, also a teeny tiny loss. There is a thin vertical surface scuff on the rear side of the spine. The flaps and also very clean. The previous owner made four thin tucking-in corner clips, however the price is undisturbed. He also lightly penciled the letter 'E' next to the price. From the dust jacket: 'Last Full Measure is the fourth and final volume of J. G. Randall's great biography of Lincoln the President. Professor Randall has long been recognized as the outstanding Lincoln scholar. At the same time he has been noted for the special warmth and intimacy of his understanding of Lincoln. In reading this book one cannot escape the feeling that every conceivable source, fact and opinion has been consulted and considered. The result has a kind of serene authority and balanced breadth of understanding which will, in time, establish this great book as the basic biography and interpretation of Lincoln the President.'.
