This is volume 151 in the publisher's Collecao Documentos Brasilieras, produced on the occasion of the Sesquicentenario da Independencia do Brasil. It records the Itinerario da Indepencia, which is the roteiro da viagem de D. Pedro from Rio to Sao Paulo in the Spring… (agosto) of 1822. The chief pleasure of the book is the nine maps (pranchas) that record the stages of journey, and two maps (plantas) that are fold-outs in color of Rio and Sao Paulo in 1822. 184 pages, with period illustrations, Fontes Bibliograficas, Fontes Cartograficas, and Indice Onomastico e Toponomico; plus xxii pages prefatory matter, including Frontispiece. Covers show scant shelf-use; text is clean and strong, though coloring to mid-margins. Maps By Author (illustrator).
