First Edition. [8], 81pp. Original publisher's stitched blue paper wraps, some wear and creasing to edges. Contemporary ink inscription to head of upper wrapper. Lightly soiled. A scarce survival in original wrappers of this short practical anti-Catholic work, dedicated 'To the clergy, and other inhabitants of the Diocese of Chester, more especially of those parts where the Papists are most numerous'. Stated to be 'excerpted' from the already rather slight volume Five Sermons against Popery (Dublin, 1772) by Thomas Secker (1683-1768), Archbishop of Canterbury for the final ten years of his life.
