Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st editin of volume 2 (volumes 3 was published in the same year and volume 4 in 1739) but complete in itself, the volume on gardening, appears to be the 1737 2nd edition (matches ESTC T131957) although date on title is M.DCC.XXXVI. (1736), it is possible that it is a first edition as no edition is stated but if so it is not listed by ESTC, ix [i] [ii-publisher's list] 387 [1-publisher's list]pp, frontispiece and 34 folding plates, modern calf spine with gold lettering (creased down the middle), marbled boards, new endpapers, some marginal water staining with a few leaves partially slightly frayed to edge, paper flaw to page 341, ex lib (Hull Mechanics Instuitute) with small ink stamps on plates and title, modern woodcut bookplate on front pastedown, 8vo (12x20cm).
