Second edition, revised. x, 208pp. Miles Gloriosus is a comedic play written by Titus Maccius Plautus (c. 254-184 BC). The action takes place in Ephesus, a Greek city on the coast of Asia Minor, famous for its Temple of Artemis, and the play is thought to date from early in Plautus's career. The text of the play in this edition is in Latin, and the introduction and notes are in English. it is designed primarily for college students. The book is bound in the original green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping and a touch of fading to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with a name written on the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with light soiling and the spine is faded. The spine ends are bumped with small pieces missing and small tears, and have been reinforced on the reverse with tape.…
