Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Undated edition, but gift inscription on the front end paper is dated 1895. Firmly bound, forward leaning black boards without a jacket. Some marks and handling wear, Foxing mostly on the first few pages is quite heavy in places.

Book is attractively bound in wood and leather Mauchline binding, with various Scottish scenes on both boards, page edges gilded all-round, book is a larger format measuring 10.5 inches tall approx. (26cm approx.) The binding has some wear with a darkened area to the top of the spine, splits to the leather along upper joint at both spine ends, some rubbed spots to the covers, internally lacks the blank front endpaper, book opens onto the title page, a short tear with no loss to base of first song page (see pictures) some creasing to a few page edges, noticeable foxing to a number of pages, else contents in good general condition.
